Have you seen Mount Isa City Council's brand new footpath scrubber cleaning footpaths in the CBD?
Mayor Danielle Slade - pictured below with Ross Pitt, Vehicle Operator Neil Dowling, and Urban Maintenance Team Leader Greg Huth - said she was very impressed by the capabilities and effectiveness of the scrubber when she visited Council's Works Yard recently.
Council Works and Operations Manager Ross Pitt said the scrubber will be used in the CBD just about every night, with footpaths cleaned on a rotating basis.
"It will be equipped with a little pressure blaster as well, so we can jump out and give the bins a quick clean," Ross said.
"It does a very good job."
The scrubber will be used at night time to ensure the cleaning work does not inconvenience people who work in the CBD. The machine will complement the use of the Council's existing street sweeper.
